My background in “people” care comes from a 20+ year history in the medical field, caring for patients, working in hospitals and offices. In 2001 my 85 year old mother came to live with us. Her health deteriorated over the years and I became her sole caregiver…24 hour days, 7 days a week. "In Home" care was extremely expensive. I did extensive research and found not only Medicare and her private insurance did not cover her expenses, but a long term health care policy she had was for inpatient care only. In order for her to stay in her home, I provided for her care. After countless calls and interviews, I found a caretaker to come in for a few days a week. I soon came to realize how weary I had become, my life revolved around nothing more than caring for my Mom. I was fortunate in that I found a sweet, caring woman that I could trust. She came to love my mother and we came to love her.
I have had many clients from Rancho Murieta over the past 5 years. The valuable experience I gained from caring for my Mother has provided me with a wealth of knowledge and an appreciation for patience when dealing with Alzheimer’s, dementia, diabetes, cancer, post-surgical care and over all general health issues.
What started as a word of mouth referral has turned into a new way of life for me. I enthusiastically face new challenges every day. My clients have become dear friends and their families, an extended part of mine.
