Alternatives?
To better appreciate the attractiveness, as well as function, the following best illustrates the point:
Before After M-SW-1005 As you can see, the Before creates a feeling of chaos, the result of using newspapers, sheets and other unsightly measures in the "zone". Droppings and food add to the image. In the case of sheets & rugs, the debris penetrates the material, requiring removal and or washing; both costly and time consuming. Unfortunately, these absorbent materials take on unwanted odors! If, as is frequently the case, the cage is located on a carpeted or hardwood floor, removal adds to the challenge. On the right, After, you have a "mat bib". Although the slotting option is unnecessary on a linoleum surface, it is ideal where the space is limited or cage wheels leave markings. A quick sweeping or vacuuming, followed by a sponging and the task is complete. Or, simply pull the bib from beneath the cage, take it outdoors and hose it off! The repellent surface facilitates rapid drying of the birdie mess, reducing "birdie odor"! The slotted bib below has been under Dylan's cage, enduring his perpetual onslaught and that of Beau (our chocolate lab) when grazing & playing! I sincerely doubt a more rigorous testing could be designed. With modest care, our floor coverings will last you for many enjoyable years of service.
